“Lacemaking rules!” Again we are giving you a
pricking. We would like you to make an insertion which could fit into a 6
inch / 15 cm clear plastic ruler. The pricking must be used as
printed. Do not enlarge or reduce size. You find a lot of pin holes, but
you do not have to use all of them. Skip the holes you do not like or
need, but ... DO NOT MAKE NEW HOLES! You may use a gimp. You may use white
or color. Anything goes - except new holes. Hint: You can enlarge the pricking 150 % to design on. Then you can reduce your design to 67 % and it should be back to its original size. The pricking measures from the top row to bottom row 5 3/4 inches. The HLG Challenge is open to all
bobbin lacers. Membership in HLG is not necessary to participate. The
challenge project must be made entirely by contestant. Challenge project must be received
by: April 1, 2002. Please, send to: Christa Burr Please, include a self-addressed
stamped envelope big enough to return your lace. Please, print your name
and address clearly. While all reasonable care will be given to your lace,
the HLG assumes no liability for insurance, damage or loss. Participant
gives first publishing right to HLG. Commemorative hand painted Danish bobbins will be awarded to some of the entries. All challenge projects will be on display during the Paducah Quilt Show April 2002 and other exhibitions if possible. Have Fun!
